Three Reasons
to Learn Chinese in Tianjin

The Cradle of "Crosstalk" and Eloquence
Tianjin is the national center for Xiangsheng (Crosstalk), a traditional Chinese comedic performance that relies on wordplay and perfect pronunciation. Because of this heritage, locals take great pride in their speech and are exceptionally articulate. Sojourn Abroad programs in Tianjin leverage this by encouraging students to engage with the city’s vibrant oral traditions, helping you develop a rhythmic, expressive, and highly confident speaking style that is rare to find elsewhere.
A "Big City" Experience with a Local Feel
Despite being a massive metropolis, Tianjin feels significantly more relaxed and welcoming than neighboring Beijing. This "small-town" warmth in a major city means locals are more patient and willing to chat with learners. It provides a low-pressure immersion environment where you can practice daily Mandarin at local snack stalls or along the Haihe River without the frantic pace of other Tier-1 cities, allowing for more authentic and meaningful social interactions.
Exceptional Value and Proximity
Tianjin offers an incredibly high quality of life at a fraction of the cost of Beijing or Shanghai. Wwith the high-speed rail taking only 30 minutes to Beijing, you get the best of both worlds: a quiet, affordable base for deep study with instant access to the political and cultural heart of China.

This program is extremely affordable compared to many other language programs, especially considering everything it offers. The prices make long-term study in China realistic, without sacrificing quality. What I love most is the flexibility to study in different cities. I was able to live one month in each location and experience two amazing cities, Beijing and Shanghai. Each city offers a completely different lifestyle and learning environment, which keeps the experience fresh and motivating. Few programs give you this many choices of cities while remaining so budget-friendly.
Louis, France

This program is incredibly affordable and offers amazing value for the price. The tuition is surprisingly low compared to other language programs, yet the quality of teaching and support is very high. Because it is so cheap, it makes long-term study possible without financial pressure. You can focus on learning and living comfortably instead of worrying about costs. For anyone who wants a serious language program that is truly budget-friendly, this is one of the most affordable options available.
